Donate a Park Bench
If you choose to donate a bench, it must match the style of bench currently being used in the desired park. The prices listed below include the cost of the bench, a bronze engraved plaque, installation, as well as maintenance and repair of the bench. Bench donations are tax deductible and an official receipt will be issued to the donor by the City.
The City understands that the bench may have sentimental value, however, it is not to be considered a memorial or shrine. For that reason the City respectfully requests that placement of flowers, wreaths, pictures, etc. at the site or adding fixtures to the donated item is not permitted.

The turnaround time for a bench donation is approximately 18-20 weeks. Once you have decided to go forward with a bench donation, it is advisable to schedule a park site visit to discuss the type of bench and location opportunities.How long does the process take?
How long does the donation last?
When you donate a bench, Parks Division staff make a commitment to maintain that donation for ten years, with the same frequency and methods as all other park features of that type. After this time, renewal options will be provided with purchase costs at future market prices.
Occasionally there may be a need to relocate a donation if there are frequent repairs needed, or if the park area is undergoing new development. In this case, the Parks Division undertakes the relocation and covers all of the costs. If, at a later date, you wish to have your donation moved to another location but the Parks Division has not identified this as a need, you will be responsible for the costs.
