2008 Flavours of Surrey

On July 27, 2008, the City of Surrey, in partnership with the Surrey Farmers Institute and the BC Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, hosted an outdoor food tasting feast at the beautiful Historic Stewart Farm to celebrate the diversity of Surrey's culinary culture.

The Flavours of Surrey event featured local chefs and businesses who prepared a delicious array of dishes with a focus on Surrey grown and produced ingredients.  This event showcased the City’s diverse farm products and cuisines offered by restaurants and businesses in the Surrey/White Rock area.  Restaurants included
Fieldstone Artisan BreadsSea Horse GrillKla-how-eya Culinary ArtsHenry's Outdoor BBQ, Delitalia Fine Foods, Rasoi Fine Indian Cuisine, and Dolce Gelato.  The ticket price also included beer-tasting provided by Big Ridge Brewing Company and wine-tasting from River's Bend Winery.  Gourmet organic coffee was provided by Holy Smoke Coffee.

Along with food tasting, there was live entertainment from musicians The Wheat in the Barley and Jennifer Kennedy.  There was also farm animal petting, interactive activities, and information about local agriculture.  It was an afternoon of food, fun and festivities for the whole family!
