BUSINESS RETENTION & EXPANSION PROGRAM

Businesses that stay competitive are more likely to stay and expand in a community that they are supported in. It is a well known fact that up to 80% of new job growth and capital investment in any community is generated by existing business. The goal of the program is to identify and realize solutions that enhance the ability of local business to expand and grow in Surrey. Also, our Business Retention and Expasion program program promotes job growth by helping the community identify the concerns and barriers to growth, as well as opportunities facing existing local businesses.

What's the Process?

We start with a one hour confidential interview with the senior management of your company to obtain comprehensive information on the issues and opportunities facing businesses in our community. We'll learn about your business, explore your issues and target area were we can make a difference. Out visit can address areas where we can drive local and immediate action.

The program has been designed to answer many key questions and enable our interview with senior executives to:

  • gain insight into the dynamics of Surrey's economy
  • evaluate growth potential, risk of relocation or down sizing and employment trends
  • understand the positive and negative attributes of Surrey as a place to do business
  • develop value added services for Surrey companies

We develop solutions by working with a business response team made up of representatives from City Hall, Provincial and Federal agencies and other local service providers. Information collected will assist in identifying trends and develop longer term strategies to support the Surrey business community.
