Major Development Projects in Surrey

Surrey is a rapidly growing community that balances its agricultural heritage with its emergence as a major urban centre. Surrey is the second largest municipality in British Columbia and one that is expected to accommodate much of the growth in the Lower Mainland in the coming years. This page lists major development projects in the City of Surrey.  Please check back as this page is updated.

City Centre Major Development Applications

Surrey City Centre has experienced two major periods of growth, the first in the early 1990s and the second at the beginning of this century. At present City Centre is experiencing a resurgence of development. The City Centre Library and Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre and Covered Youth Park will increase the civic presence in the area, as will a new City Hall facility to begin construction in 2011. Major private developments completed and under construction include the CityPoint, d'Corize, Infinity, Park Place, Urban Village and Quattro residential developments.

As part of the City Centre Plan Update a development concept, proposed land use plan, transportation network, and open space concept has been approved. The plan is now in its implementation stage, Phase II, Stage 2.
