Who to Call? - Sanitary Sewer Related Information

If you require further information about;

  • your sanitary sewer connection,
  • reporting missing, damaged or noisy manholes,
  • noisy vacuum sewer chamber,
  • reporting Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSO),
  • reporting an emergency, or
  • how to handle a sewer back-up

please call the Service Request Desk at 604-591-4152. The call taker will take all required information and dispatch your request to the appropriate City sewer representative.

If you suspect a problem with your sewer system or anytime a back-up occurs, homeowners should first contact the City Operations Division - Engineering Department at the numbers provided above, before contacting a plumber or sewer service contractor. There is no charge for City crews to investigate your problem or back-up. You will be responsible for the cost when you hire a plumber or sewer service contractor. You can possibly save yourself costly and unnecessary call out charges or repair bills. Ensure that the problem is not the City's responsibility before you call a private contractor for help. Some plumbers may not be familiar with the City's Sanitary Sewer System, particularly our Vacuum and Low Pressure systems.

BEFORE YOU CALL A PLUMBER
