Councillor Linda Hepner worked at the City of Surrey for more than 20 years before retiring as the City's Manager of Economic Development prior to her election as Councillor in 2005.
Councillor Hepner believes cities are important job generators and Co-Chaired Surrey's first Regional Economic Summit aimed at taking advantage of Surrey's designation as Metro Vancouver's second downtown core.
Under her leadership as Chair of Parks and Community Services, Surrey acquired oceanview Camp Kwomais for parkland. Councillor Hepner advanced the most aggressive development of artificial turf fields in Surrey's history, with Hjorth Road, Newton and South Surrey all under design and construction. She serves on the GVRD Agriculture and Environment Committees, Surrey's Finance Committee, Public Safety Committee and Chairs the Mayor's Task Force on the 2010 Games.
Councillor Hepner is married to Alan, has one son, two stepsons and a granddaughter. Councillor Hepner is a member of the Surrey First Coalition.
