Neil Murtsell was born in White Rock and raised in Surrey. In 1998 he graduated from Earl Marriott Secondary. His career as a commercial pilot has taken him to live in the Yukon, NWT, Manitoba and Alberta. He has spent time travelling to many countries and all of Canada’s provinces and territories. Now 28, he has returned to Surrey, and looks forward to not wearing a parka to work in the winter.
When asked why he is getting involved in politics he says,"I guess my friends have heard me say ‘if I was the Prime Minister’ one too many times' ”.
Neil admits he's an unknown rookie, stating, “Even my sister said she will buy me dinner if I get 500 votes. I can promise to use my best judgment and be an honest, hard working advocate for the people of Surrey”.
