
Councillor Villeneuve, a Surrey resident for 38 years, has raised two sons with husband Michael and holds a degree from the University of California.
A member of Council for 20 years, Councillor Villeneuve recently worked with residents as part of the NavCan Working Group. As Chair of the Social Planning Committee she played a key role in developing Surrey’s innovative Crime Reduction Strategy.
Councillor Villeneuve is proud Surrey is the first city in BC to establish a Homelessness and Housing Foundation and serves on the Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation Board; the Mayor's Task Force on Mental Health and Addictions; and, Surrey’s Public Art Committee.
Councillor Villeneuve is a strong supporter of Surrey’s new Sustainability Charter and supported the purchase of Surrey Bend Nature Reserve, funding for salmon habitats, the Blackie Spit nature park, and the purchase of Kwomais Point Park. Councillor Villeneuve is a member of the Surrey First Coalition.
