Murray Weisenberger

Murray Weisenberger has lived in Surrey for 37 years, first moving to Crescent Beach in 1971.

Murray is an artisan woodworker and an organic blueberry farmer, a member of the Green Party of BC Provincial Council and a member of the Green Party of Canada. This is his third attempt at Mayor having run as an Independent in 1999 and 2002 where he finished second with more than 11,000 voters (27%).

He is a member of Surrey Environmental partners and the Surrey/White Rock Pesticide Free Coalition. He petitioned in the streets to try to stop the Campbell Heights Industrial Area from being approved in 2002. He has spoken on many issues at Public Hearings and forums.

His goal is to win. His policies are consistent with Green Party principals.
They include a belief that we need real consultation with the Public. He believes in Electoral Reform including a Modified Ward System of electing Council and term limits for Mayor and Council.
