Laurence Greeff immigrated to Canada from Cape Town, South Africa with his parents settling in Kamloops.
Laurence completed teacher training at UBC and took his first teaching position at Dr. Kearney Junior Secondary in Fort St. John. Laurence’s last assignment before moving to Langley School District was the Nenqayni Treatment Centre, Williams Lake supporting students in recovery from inhalant abuse.
Laurence is department head of Special Education at Langley Secondary School. He was president of the Langley Teachers’ Association for three years and has been on the BCTF Finance Committee for seven years.
Laurence has coached sports at the school and community level and has had the honour of being a Big Brother to two “little brothers”. He has a daughter who attended Earl Marriot Secondary.
“I firmly believe that our community must have strong advocates who will defend public education and the fundamental rights of our children,” says Laurence.
