The Surrey school board of the past decade has held back the innovation and brilliance of students and teachers. In these times of changing enrollment and lower budgets, I strongly believe that by embracing our collective ingenuity, we can find novel and creative ways to do learning differently. We need to diversify our programming, move learning beyond the school, and empower the student.

Some projects I would push include a district-wide Student Leadership Council, expanding community schools, integrating school facilities with city-owned parks and rec centres, expanding French Immersion and studying Punjabi and Mandarin Immersion options, initiating a student transit pass, looking at out-of-class credits, and supporting a teacher's autonomy in the classroom.
