I am coming into this election from the concerns we all share. I am doing so with an admiration for School District 36, while wanting to help make it more responsive to the ever changing needs of our rapidly growing and diverse community.
Married and living in Surrey for the last 13 years, we have 5 pre-teen children. Two are in the autistic spectrum.
Each has brought a unique experience with the district. Each has required a different level of advocacy. I know first-hand the challenges families face.
So, I pledge:
- to assist our children to be the best they can be, within our own community, and to be future leaders through self-respect, compassion and achievement
- to recognize that parents and teachers are our best resources to that goal
- to properly steward the taxpayers money toward that goal
- to acknowledge and ensure that YOUR child matters
