Claim Your Home Owner Grant On-line

IT'S FAST, EASY, AND CONVENIENT!                             

The on-line Home Owner Grant application will be available from mid-May to end of December each year. For retroactive Home Owner Grant applications for the previous year, please click here and see the Retroactive Home Owner Grant section. 

Surrey residents can apply for their current Home Owner Grant on-line by clicking on the link below.

  1. Only one eligible registered owner needs to apply.
  2. You must have the folio number and access code from your property tax notice.
  3. You will receive screen confirmation of your grant application to print for your records.
  4. You no longer need to submit the paper application form to the City of Surrey.

Electronic Property Tax Payments

By claiming the Home Owner Grant on-line it is no longer necessary to manually complete and submit the paper application form.  If you pay your property taxes through one of the many convenient services offered by a Canadian financial institution or through your mortgage company, you may save time and money by claiming your Home Owner Grant on-line!

Prevent common payment errors:

1.  Double check the folio number provided on your tax notice with the account number set up with the bank before making paymentIf you have purchased or sold a property you must update your banking records with the correct folio number

2.  Allow a minimum of 3 days for your financial institution to process property tax payments and keep all receipts and proof of payment.

 

When paying your property taxes by electronic banking through your financial institution, use your folio number provided on your tax notice as your account number. Search for "Surrey" as the payee and select the property tax listing from the results.

Most financial institutions allow you to schedule your payment for a future date when paying on-line.  You can set up your property tax payment ahead of time and the funds will be transferred on the date you enter.  Back date the payment 3 days before the due date.  This will allow some time for you to check your account balance and verify the funds has been transferred.
