The Mayor's Charity Ball, benefitting the Surrey Firefighter's Charitable Society, is the City of Surrey's premiere fundraising event of the year developed in cooperation with the corporate community. This prestigious black tie event, attended by more than 700 senior level executives from across the Lower Mainland, offers significant profile and visibility for corporate organizations.
Like any charitable event, what matters most are the people we are supporting. This year, the emphasis is on helping the youth of Surrey. The success generated by this event enables a direct investment in the community administered through the Surrey Firefighter's Charitable Society. Last year's proceeds supported:
- Mental Health and Addiction Emergency Treatment unit at the Surrey Memorial Emergency Room Expansion
- Nutritional snacks at inner city school
- Assistance providing low income families with hockey equipment
- A baseball program for children with disabilities
- Funding for a batting cage for Canadian Little League (Guildford)
- Guildford School Rugby program
- High school breakfast program
- High School Automotive program, teaching mechanical skills and promoting a drug and alcohol free lifestyle to teenagers
- $12,000 in bursaries to students based on community service
- SPCA children's summer programs
- Holly Community Centre and Guildford summer programs
- $20,000 in funding for burn treatment (including summer camps for burn survivors)
- Surrey High School Goodwill Basketball Tournament
- Surrey High School Wrestling Tournament
- BC Special Olympics
- BC Wheelchair Basketball Society
- Firefighter's Teen Boot Camp

This must attend event will begin with a cocktail reception where men in tuxedos and women in beautiful gowns mix and mingle followed by a sumptuous dinner prepared by Culinary Capers, the Lower Mainland's finest catering company and served by black coated waiters.
