1. Dress for the weather

Rain or shine, the Festival will go on! Make sure to pack a raincoat or umbrella for the wet days and sunscreen for the sunny days!

2. Lighten your load

Sorry folks – any items that make a squeak, slurp, beep, crunch, ding, woof or chirp will not be allowed into the ticketed venues. Some examples are: cameras, pagers, cell phones, recording devices, pets, food or drink.

3. Be safe and courteous

Don't forget the buddy system! All children must be accompanied by an adult. Respect the personal space of all performers by ensuring your students are at a safe distance.  Roving and Stilting Performers are people too!

4. Arrive on time

Due to our tight schedule, all shows must start on time. Seating for all Festival shows begins 20 minutes before show time. Come early, get your favourite seat, sit back, relax and enjoy the show! Latecomers may have to wait to be seated.

5. Plan your day

There is a lot to do and see at the Surrey Children's Festival. In addition to all of the great Festival shows and activities, you never know what creative fun will happen at the Festival, so leave a little time for the unexpected! In addition to the Surrey Children's Festival, Bear Creek Park also hosts a public swimming pool, water playground and the Bear Creek Train & Mini-golf.

6. Nourish the soul and your belly

Plan to have lunch at the Festival. Our vendors provide good healthy food and yummy treats, or if you like, bring a picnic. There are lots of places on site to sit down and enjoy a lunch! If your class wants to bring a lunch we will have space (not refrigerated) in the Information Tent.  Please clearly label your cooler. (Sorry, requests for individual lunches cannot be accommodated.)

7. Take a memory home

Why not take a piece of the Festival home with you? Performing artists will have their cd's on sale at our Festival Sales Booth. You can also purchase Festival memorabilia.
