Who We Are

The Surrey Fire Service is one of the largest composite department in Canada (a combination of career and paid-on-call firefighters).  Currently, we employ over 342 career firefighters and 92 paid-on-call firefighters. We have 17 fire halls. 12 are career only, 3 are paid-on-call only, and 2 are composite. We service a growing population of just over 410,000 and cover a service area of 342 square kilometers (132 square miles). Our team consists of Administration, Operations, Fire Prevention and Public Education, Training, Communications, Computer Specialties, and Mechanical positions. These special trades all form the important support network for firefighting operations. As you can see there are many different positions necessary to operate a successful Fire Service. To learn more about what we do and the information and services we provide please visit the Fire Service Information section of this website.
