Mud Bay Park

Mud Bay Park opened in the fall of 2002.  The park offers beautiful shoreline views and great bird watching during the migratory season.  As with Blackie Spit, which is located across the bay, the tidal marshes and eelgrass beds along the shoreline represent an important stop for migrating and wintering waterfowl and shorebirds.  Fall migrants start arriving in late August and September.  Spring migrants start leaving in mid-March and are generally gone by the end of May.

Please note that there are seasonal closures of the shoreline trails to dogs, bikes and horses from fall to early spring each year to accommodate migratory birds.

Round Trip:
Approximately 3 km.  Allow 1 1/2 hours.

 How to Get There:
Head south on 152 Street, then turn west on Colebrook Road.  Turn south on 127A Street, then left (east) on the park access road that begins just after the railway tracks and park in the gravel parking lot at the end of the road.
