Gardening Programs

The Surrey Nature Centre offers gardening programs throughout the year. Whether you are a novice or experienced gardener, these programs will teach you new skills to further your understanding of plants and increase your knowledge of the natural environment.

Winter 2010 (January - March)

Organic Master Gardener Certificate

Classes held Tuesdays (6:30PM - 9:30PM) & Saturdays (2:00PM - 5:00PM)
First class: Tuesday March 2, 2010.

Cost: $695

A comprehensive organic gardening course for urban garden enthusiasts and landscape professionals. Learn to create fabulous food and ornamental gardens without pesticides and other harmful chemicals.

Gardening in Small Spaces

Cost: $40 (includes supplies & materials)

Create a practical garden for your balcony, deck or condo. Learn about soil, planting techniques, plant selection and maintenance. Participants will also plant and take home a container with edible and ornamental plants.
Please bring a container of your choice with drainage holes (16 to 20 inches wide maximum). 
Plants and other materials are included.

Confused at what garden chores are needed at this time of year?  Get on the right track with a horticultural expert who will provide gardening insights, practical growing tips and a handout on seasonal garden issues.
