The Surrey Nature Centre is looking for enthusiastic individuals with a love of the outdoors to join our team of dedicated volunteers as we engage visitors in exploring their environment and discovering their connection with nature.
Volunteer Positions:
As a Special Events Assistant, you will help staff host special events taking place year-round. Your duties may include assisting with event set-up and take-down, welcoming event-goers, running games and activities, face painting, serving refreshments, and more. |
|
 | As a School Programs Assistant, you will assist the School Programs Leader with a variety of seasonally-focused environmental education programs and help manage classes of elementary school children. Getting involved in the activities (both indoors and outdoors) and connecting with the students are your main duties. |
| As a Day Camp Assistant, you will help Day Camp Leaders coordinate nature games, crafts, out-trips and other activities. Have fun playing with campers in the forest or meadow and discovering outdoor adventures in Green Timbers Park. The Surrey Nature Centre offers Day Camps throughout the summer, during winter holidays and spring break. | |

| As a Site Care Assistant, you will help take care of elements at the Surrey Nature Centre that are vital to our operation but generally behind the scenes. Typical duties include cleaning and refilling bird feeders, maintaining bird lists, recording wildlife observations and helping with grounds maintenance such as watering the gardens and removing invasive plants from the forest. |
