| Stewart Farmhouse Built in 1894 by Surrey pioneer John Stewart for his family, this charming restored Victorian farmhouse features a wrap-around verandah, an elegant parlour and dining room, and a wonderful warm kitchen with a working woodburning stove. Visitors can enjoy heritage activities, crafts and home baking. Costumed tour guides are happy to escort you through this elegant home. |
Pole Barn This heritage barn was built c.1900 and is one of the last surviving barns of its kind. Constructed from unmilled lumber, the Pole Barn features a midstrey canopy that allowed a fully loaded hay wagon to be driven through. The barn stored hay, machinery and originally housed six draught horses, one bull, one sow and four to six dairy cows. It is now home to a display of antique agricultural tools.

Marine Heritage Display This building features an exhibit about Surrey's fishing history and boatbuilding. The old Hadden crab boat that was built in the Elgin Boat Building and Machine shop is on display, along with the story of oyster farming and crab fishing along the Nicomekl River and Crescent Beach.
| Heritage Gardens & Orchard These very special gardens boast varieties of flowers, vegetables and herbs that would have been planted by local farmers 100 or more years ago, many of them now rare and hard to find. A team of staff and dedicated volunteers tends the gardens using organic methods. Visitors are invited to stroll around the beds and enjoy the sight of pie pumpkins, carrots and prize Scarlet Runner beans, heritage roses, snapdragons, calendulas and sunflowers, to name a few of the plants grown here. Seeds for many of these varieties are usually available in the spring. The orchard features 27 varieties of heritage apple, plum and pear trees. |
The site also features two c.1900, Craftsman-style buildings, one that housed the Stewarts' threshing machine and a bunkhouse that was accommodation for the farm hands.
