Bev Woolgar

The reason I volunteered to be a "Partner in Parks" for the City of Surrey is to show my appreciation for the job the City does in creating and maintaining our parks.  We are so fortunate to have an abundance of beautiful parks to enjoy here in Surrey. I live in the Don Christian Park area of Cloverdale and we have a volunteer committee who meets on a regular basis to discuss ways of coming alongside the Parks Department to assist them in any way we can.  As a senior with health issues, I cannot do any heavy work, but I saw a need for assisting in keeping the park "litter free." On my walks, I have met so many friendly people who appreciate the work of the volunteers and I feel a sense of satisfaction that I am helping out my community in this small way.  Of course, the added benefits of fresh air and exercise are a bonus!
