Surrey has a strong commitment to culture and works hard to foster and promote arts and heritage within its communities. In the Fall of 2005 the City was proud to open the new Surrey Museum, the first museum to be built in British Columbia in the 21st century. Surrey's showcase for the arts is the Surrey Arts Centre.
