Description:
EllisDon Corporation has been awarded the Pre-Construction services for the Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre project and retained by the City of Surrey as the Construction Manager. The site for the Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre is located at the intersection of 24th Avenue and 168th Street in Surrey, BC. The aquatic Centre will include fitness and wellness facilities and the administration space required for the new building. Parking will be at grade and offsite services will be required to service the site. The aquatic centre project will include one (1) FINA certified 50m competition venue pool tank, lifestyle pool and amenities, hot pool, steam and sauna rooms, and related support spaces. The aquatic centre will also include a fitness centre. The project scope includes work onsite and as well as required work offsite. A preliminary construction schedule for the project has been developed by EllisDon. The overall construction duration for the project is Ninety Nine (99) weeks from the start of construction on site in mid August 2013 to Occupancy in early July 2015.

The Intent of this RFQ Package No.2 is to obtain a Stipulated Price Quotation offer from trade contractors (RFQ Contractors) to perform the following scopes of work:

• Special Construction (Spectator seating, Play water features, Scoreboard

NOTE:
The following scopes of work are being procured under the Pre-Qualified Trade Contractors process: Cast-in-place Concrete, Masonry, Structural Steel & Metal Fabrications, Roofing, Glazing & Glass, Metal Cladding & Polycarbonate Panels, Drywall, Tiling, Painting, Electrical and Mechanical.

RFQ Documents consist of RFQ Instructions, Drawings, Specifications and other related documents. To access the RFQ Documents go to www.ellisdon.plansource.ca and enter your login and password. If you don’t have a login and password click on the “Sign Up Here” link and enter your information. NOTE:

Quotations are to remain valid for Sixty (60) days from the RFQ Closing deadline indicated above.

EllisDon Corporation will be using Subguard® on the Project. Subguard® is Zurich North America Insurance Companies’ Subcontractor Default Insurance Program. This is an insurance product that replaces Subcontractor bonding. As Subguard® is being used on the Project, Subcontractors will not be required to provide a performance and payment bond. Subcontractors will instead be required to provide EllisDon with information about their company’s experience and financial capability to complete the Subcontract Work. It is the RFQ Contractor’s responsibility to have completed the online Subguard application (refer to Appendix “J” in the RFQ Documents) and have the required current Subguard® rating from EllisDon within one (1) week after RFQ Closing. Having the required current Subguard® rating from EllisDon as noted herein will be a condition for further assessment and consideration of the received Quotation. EllisDon will remain available to address any questions or concerns.

The EllisDon “Subguard® Subcontractor Qualification Application” will be sent to you electronically. The form is to be filled out on-line by the Subcontractor. For this purpose, please contact Lisa Smythies at lsmythies@ellisdon.com  within two (2) working days from the date of this RFQ Package and provide the name and e-mail address of the person in your company who will be responsible for filling out the online application form. EllisDon will require a minimum of three (3) weeks for processing an application.
