Some activities require a wristband, and some activities are free to join.

Arts Activities - wristband required

Use your Arts Activity wristband to join all of these Arts Activities for all 3 days of the Surrey Children's International Festival.

Big Top Circus Fun

Join the ringmaster and circus performers and explore the wonderful world of Circus Arts! Learn how to keep all of your balls in the air at our juggling station and look at the world from a pair of stilts.

Celebration Arts

Presented by The Surrey Leader and Peach Arch News.

Our crew of arts-elves will work with children to create festival props to celebrate their visit to the Festival. Be a part of the magic!

Clay Arts

Play with clay! Children develop small motor skills and imaginations as they sculpt their masterpieces.

Cut/Move/Snap Animation Activity

Brought to the Festival with a partnership with Reel 2 Real Youth Film Society. Thrill your students’ minds with the production of their own animated short film sequence using cut-out materials, students won't want to leave!

Face Paint Station

Be transformed at the Face Paint Station. Add colour to the Festival and your own personal canvas. Experiment with colour, have fun and get your Festival face on!

Arts Umbrella onsite activity "Show Me Your Story"

Contribute to a ever-transforming, collaborative storyboard! Create a representation of yourself, or add pieces to the collage. Of course, kids are also welcome to take their piece home with them.

Treat yourself to the beauty of traditional henna art. You won't recognize yourself!

Music Station

Piano and marimbas and music oh my!  Drop by our music station to try making beautiful music on our marimbas or piano.

Words Poet's Zone! on paper

Poet's Zone


Become a poet before you know it!  Drop by the Poet's Zone during the festival and play with words. Using nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs for inspiration, cut, paste and compose original poems on the spot! Take home your masterpiece or display it in the Poet’s Zone Gallery!  Fun for the whole family and suitable for all ages!


Drop by and create black-out poetry with Surrey's Poet Laureate Renée Sarojini Saklikar. Using felt pens and used books donated by Surrey Libraries, create poetry by marking out words and passages! This activity will be available on Friday, May 27 during:

  • 10:00am - 10:30am
  • 12:45pm - 1:15pm


Beautiful work with gorgeous designs. Take part in this ancient art form in the Surrey Arts Centre Courtyard.

Come craft with us! Make your very own paper bag lantern to light up the night. Stickers, colour tissue and glitter are just a few of the things available to create your piece of art. Glow sticks are included so you can enjoy the light of your lantern safely at home.

Giant Sandboxes are always a hit for children to explore building, destroying and generally mucking about! Bring your imaginations as the toys are ready for the picking.

Join the Surrey Museum, Historic Stewart Farm and Surrey Archives for hands-on heritage crafts & activities, and a then and now photo matching game!

Nature Discovery Presented by the Surrey Nature Centre and Surrey’s Natural Areas Partnership.

Discover art in nature! Do you know that in addition to all the plants and animals, there is also nature making art?  Come to our activity to learn how.  This activity is part of Surrey’s Environmental Extravaganza– bring your passport to our tent on Saturday May 28 for your stamp.

The Amazing Cardboard Kingdom

Engage in fun, physical and imaginative free-play. Create a giant Balloon monster, a cardboard city you never know what else these rulers of the Cardboard Kingdom have in store!
