The Sewer Section participates in the future planning of neighbourhoods by developing servicing strategies and plans. Follow the link to Secondary Land Use and NCP to view the sanitary sewer servicing information.
Capital Construction
The major sewer projects in 2010 are:
- The replacement of the vacuum sewer in Bridgeview West Cell (click here). This is phase 1 of Bridgeview Sewer Replacement System and is expected to be completed by March 2011. The project cost over $9 million and is assisted with senior government grant. The replacement system comprises of steep grade sewer system with a pump station, and low pressure sewer system.
- Semiahmoo Pump Station upgrade to accommodate growth in South Surrey specifically the border areas. The project cost about $4 million and is expected to be completed in 2011.
- 106 Avenue Relief Sewer costing over $1 million and is scheduled to be completed 2010. This will relief the sewer servicing the north east portion of City Centre and the catchment east of City Centre.
- Wet Well Replacement at Chimney Hill and Latimer pump stations costing about $1 million and scheduled to be completed in 2010. This work replaces the corroding steel wet wells of the pump station by lining them with fibre glass wet wells.
