    What our department does

    The General Manager of the Investment and Intergovernmental Relations (IIR) department for the City of Surrey reports to the City Manager. The General Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team which provides overall corporate leadership to the organization. The General Manager supports and enables the IIR team in:

  • Ensuring the City’s interests and needs are well understood by other orders of government;
  • Maximizing opportunities for partnerships with other orders of government; and
  • Ensuring all reasonable actions are taken in a timely manner ensuring the City is recognized as a preferred location for and to facilitate economic investment in Surrey.

      The GM also supports the team responsible for the City of Surrey website and online communications in:

      • Delivering an improved online experience for the City’s citizens and customers;
      • Increasing the volume of the City’s citizens and customers who choose to use the website for information they need about the City or in undertaking business with the City online; working with internal and external stakeholders to continuously improve website capabilities and online services; and
      • Delivering an improved social media strategy and presence.
