Open Data Hackathon

Make an app out of an idea at this year's Teen Hackathon

March 18, 2014

The open data hackaton is about collaborating on concepts and creating innovative solutions for our City.

We encourage thought leaders, designers, programmers and anyone else that wants to help build web-based apps, mobile apps, and mashups using the City's freely available Open Data and published data sources.

Not a programmer? No problem. You don't need any experience, just interest.

The Details:

When:  March 14th - 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Where:  City Centre Library - Teen Lounge

How:  Register in branch at the library or call 604-598-7427

Through this event we hope to:

  • raise awareness about our open data initiative which provides free access to Surrey's GIS data
  • actively engage citizens and exchange ideas
  • share ideas and create tools to access our GIS data in a short period of time
