Grease Clogs Pipes

Wipe It Green Bin It

Fats, oils and grease are common in the kitchen, but when they go down the drain they can create big problems in our pipes. Grease mixes with wipes, hair and other junk to form “FATBERGS” that are hard as concrete, blocking pipes and creating problems for cities, homeowners and the environment.

Metro Vancouver spends $2 million every year to repair damage caused by grease in our region. But we can all help. Next time you're cleaning up after cooking, wipe or scrape out your pot or pan and put the grease in your green bin.
