Chantrell Creek Rehabilitation - 13568 Crescent Road

Project Description

The City Engineering department is planning construction on 13568 Crescent Road, a City owned property. The City Engineering and Parks department purchased the property in February 2015 with the intention of rehabilitating the creek on the property and expanding the existing City Parks Natural Area.  Appendix I illustrates the proposed site plan for property 13568 Crescent Road.

Project Location

Public Consultation

A Public Information Meeting was held on October 12, 2017 at Chantrell Creek Elementary. City staff presented the proposed works to remove existing failing drainage infrastructure and rehabilitate the site’s natural creek drainage system. Thank you to everyone who attended  and provided input into the process.

At the event, staff heard very strong support for the project and answered questions from attendees. If you missed the meeting and would like to learn more, please see the letter sent to neighbouring residents on September 18, 20167 or review the Public Information Meeting presentation boards.

Project Timing

Construction of the Chantrell Creek Rehabilitation project is planned in two phases:

  • Phase 1 (February/March 2018) – Tree removal to meet provincial regulations for bird nesting
  • Phase 2 (commencing August 2018) – Creek work to meet federal and provincial regulations for in-stream works

As work progresses, there may be changes to our planned schedule. We encourage you to check here regularly for any updates.
