This spring, join us for guided walks in Surrey's nature parks and learn a little more about the urban forest that we are lucky to call home!

Drop-in, rain or shine. Parent participation required for children ages 13 and under.

These walks are part of the 20th Annual Surrey Environmental Extravaganza, a series of over 100 free nature programs and events happening April 22 - June 11, 2017.

Meet the Trees of Redwood Park. Immerse yourself in the sights, smells and sounds of spring on a guided tour of this forested park. Meet some of Surrey's most exotic trees in the arboretum and learn about the legacy left by a family of early pioneers.

Meet in the parking lot, under the large tree.

Sat, May 13 10 - 11am Bose Forest Park (16441 - 62 Ave) 5+

Bose Park Discovery - for Kids! Get to know one of Surrey's newest parks. Along the way, search for hidden habitats and cross boardwalks over a cool swamp!

Meet at the park entrance at 62 Ave and 164 St.

Sat, May 13 2 - 3:30pm Bose Forest Park (16441 - 62 Ave) 10+

Bose Park Discovery. Get to know one of Surrey's newest parks! Explore boardwalks and forest paths while learning about some of the park's most magnificent habitats and trees.

Meet at the park entrance at 62 Ave and 164 St.

Wed, May 24 10 - 11:30am Hawthorne Park (10513 - 144 St) 10+ Plants of Hawthorne Park. Discover some of the fascinating ways that plants have been used by people on this hands-on park tour!

Meet in the parking lot, next to the salamander statue.
Wed, Jun 7 10 - 11:30am Bear Creek Park (13750 - 88 Ave) 10+

Bear Creek Wildlife Walk. Search for signs of wildlife in this park's diverse meadow, forest, and creek habitats. Look for the eagle nest, learn about wildlife trees, and take a peek in the creek - who will you see?

Meet at the south edge of the parking lot, in front of the water park.

Sat, Jun 10 10 - 11am Godwin Farm Biodiversity Preserve (9016 - 164 St) 5+

Godwin Farm Discovery - for Kids! Get to know one of Surrey's newest parks with lots of hands-on activities, including a visit to the tasting orchard.

Meet at the park entrance at 90 Ave and 164 St.

Sat, Jun 10 2 - 3:30pm Godwin Farm Biodiversity Preserve (9016 - 164 St) 10+

Godwin Farm Discovery. Get to know one of Surrey's newest parks! Check out the tasting orchard and explore the park's meadow, pond and forest habitats.

The Sunnyside Acres Heritage Society hosts educational walks through Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest on the first Tuesday of every month. Tours leave at 10am from the Wally Ross Parking Lot (24 Ave between 144 St and 148 St). Pre-registration required for these walks; e-mail roymstrang@gmail.com.
