Hjorth Road Park
Don't forget your sports equipment when you're making plans to spend the day at this park! Hjorth Road Park boasts over 7 hectares (19 acres) of active parkland with multiple amenities to enjoy, including:
- 2 artificial turf fields
- 4 softball diamonds
- Grass soccer fields
- Outdoor Pool
In the summer, the larger fields tend to get busy, so be sure to book a field if you have a formal team practice or game.
There are two parking lots: one in the west from 146 Street and another in the east from 148 Street.
Hjorth Road Park was named after historic Hjorth Road (now 104 Avenue), which took its name from Hans Christian Hjorth, a Norwegian fishermen who settled in the area in 1885. The land for the first portions of the park was acquired by the City in 1980. But the majority of the park was not established until later in the 80s.
