About Clayton Park
Clayton Park dates back to 1939 when the first parcel of park was purchased in the area that is now home to the Clayton Hall. The Hall offers a range of programs as well as room rentals for special events. Nearby you'll find a lawn bowling field and hall, which offers lawn bowling leagues and play through the Surrey Lawn Bowling Club. There is lots of parking for both the Clayton Hall and lawn bowling facility from 70 Avenue, just east of 185 Street.
In addition to Clayton Hall and the lawn bowling facility, you'll find a range of outdoor amenities within the south-west area of the park, including, tennis courts, a playground and a shared baseball diamond and soccer field. Here you'll also find lots of open green space with picnic shelters and tables. This area of Clayton Park is ideal for an afternoon picnic with friends and family.
Further to the north and east you'll find a number of natural area trails, including a looping path that leads through a grove of spectacular Douglas Fir trees. There is additional parking at the north-east side of the park, off 72 Avenue, adjacent to the Hazelgrove Elementary Annex. You'll find a basketball court and a pathway that leads through the forest and connects to the Clayton Dog off-leash Park and 188 Street.
