A Little Something for You

The Surrey Museum offers creative and interesting programs for both adults and seniors. Lectures, fibre art programs and more.  Check back regularly as each season has different programs to offer. View the full Summer Program Brochure. Registration begins on May 30. Check out samples and demonstrations from our textile programs. And don't forget to check out the upcoming free, family friendly events at the Surrey Museum.

  • Web Reg is available 24/7. Use the program name or the program number to find the program.
  • Call PhoneReg at 604-501-5100, Monday to Friday.
  • Call the Surrey Museum at 604-592-6956, Tuesday to Sunday to register or for information on any Surrey Museum or Stewart Farm program.
  • Visit any City of Surrey recreation centre or office to register in person.

Rattle and Hum
Make beautiful music! Weave a rattle with natural and dyed reed and a driftwood or hazel handle; fill it with limpet shells and shake, rattle and roll. Supply fee $18.  1 session - $45.25

Fashion Headbands
Headbands are making a comeback! Vogue Magazine named it the chic French fashion accessory of 2016. Explore the techniques of fabric, knitted or glamour decorated headbands. Supply fee $4.  1 session - $15

Summer Spinning Workshop
Our spinning wizard shares age-old techniques for spinning on a traditional wheel. Spin fluffy wool fibre into unique yarn for your knitting or weaving projects.  3 sessions - $60

Introduction to Nature Dyeing
Use natural plant materials to infuse yarn with rich colours. Learn how to extract dyes from plants, mordant yarn and make a dye bath, to create unique yarn skeins. Supply fee $15.  1 session - $45.25

Music at the Museum: Jug Band Jamboree
What do you get when you blend jazz, ragtime and Delta blues with washboards, jugs and other vintage and homemade instruments? Why, the unique and unforgettable sounds of The Genuine Jug Band, of course! Wear your overalls and join us on the Museum’s lawn for an evening of crazy fun and historic music.
