Celebrate the opening of our fall exhibition!

6:30pm − A panel discussion with Ground Signals exhibiting artists Ruth Beer, Brandon Gabriel, Valérie d. Walker, and Bobbi L. Kozinuk, moderated by Gallery Curator of Exhibitions and Collections Jordan Strom and co-curator Roxanne Charles, will kick off the eveniing.

7:30pm − Reception starts

The group exhibit Shift: Kwantlen Polytechnic University Fine Arts Faculty will also be recognized at this event.

8:15pm − The reception will feature a live collaborative performance by Cathy Busby and Charlene Vickers who will be riffing off their installation Intertribal Lifelines to resound bodily water and land presence. Using synthesizers, spoken words, hollering, hidden messages, surprises, and props, they will make a call to the audience as an emancipatory strategy. Their performance is in support of Indigenous sovereignty and protection of lands and waters throughout Turtle Island.

Throughout the evening, guests will also be able to generate their own artworks in dialogue with a roving performance by V&B (Valérie d. Walker and Bobbi L. Kozinuk). As trans-tectonic time-travellers from the future, the artists will offer pure solar power to USB-powered devices (smartphones, tablets, bike lights, etc) in exchange for stories about visitors' relationship with Planet Earth and her environmental health.
