About the PRC Plan

Surrey is a city abundant with parks, recreational facilities, and a vibrant arts, cultural and heritage community. The Parks, Recreation & Culture (PRC) Department helps to plan and operate many of these amenities. To build on these assets, and to meet the needs of a diverse and growing community, the City is developing a new PRC Strategic Plan. The current 2008 PRC Strategic Plan expires at the end of the year.

The new PRC Strategic Plan will identify the greatest needs and opportunities for our residents. It will help determine important funding and infrastructure decisions, including where and how money should be spent. Learn more about the 10 PRC feature projects we're working on now, and share your ideas for future projects by getting involved in our upcoming events.

Preliminary Feedback

In early spring, more than 2,100 people provided valuable input by completing the Survey 1 and attending workshops. Preliminary feedback from the survey suggests residents would like more walking and cycling trails, natural areas, community events, recreation/wellness programs, sports fields, fitness facilities, cultural spaces for children and youth, and local venues/studios facilities for the arts. These ideas were used to provide early direction for the plan.
