Back to Basics Activities - Unplugged

The programs at Historic Stewart Farm encourage learning and play for all ages. All with a heritage twist, our unique programs offer a glimpse into the past. Also don't miss our infamous Teas, Birthday Parties and Badge Programs for Girl Guides and Boy Scouts.

Early Years

Farm Tots: Puddles and Ducks - $5.25  (1-3yrs parent participation)
Splash around the farm to learn all about other animals who love water.  Rain boots and coats recommended.
Thursday, April 12 or Friday, April 13 from 10:30am-11:30am

Farm Tykes: Worms and Dirt - $5.25 (3-5yrs)
Preschoolers get their hands dirty while exploring the wonderful world of worms.
Saturday, April 28 from 11:00am-12noon

Farm Tots: Flowers and Bees - $5.25 (1-3yrs parent participation)
Explore heirloom flowers outside, go on a nature hunt and sneak a peek into the Honeybee Centre’s bee garden.
Thursday, May 10 or Friday, May 11 from 10:30am-11:30am

Farm Tykes: Victorian Tea Party - $5.25
It's pinkies up for a fancy tea party in the farmhouse. Dress up and make a tea pot craft to take home.

Farm Tykes: Fairy Lanterns - $5.25 (3-5yrs)
Secret Garden! Fashion fairy lanterns from glass jars, nibble pixie treats and play mushroom cap games.
Saturday, June 2 or Sunday, June 3 from 11:00am-12noon

Farm Tots: Pond Pals - $5.25 (1-3yrs parent participation)
What animals call the Stewart Farm pond home? Learn about frogs and beavers through crafts, games and song.
Thursday, June 7 or Friday, June 8 from 10:30am-11:30am

Middle Years

Pro-D Day Camp: Peter Pan - $33 (6-12yrs)
Get ready to have great adventures and play pirate games as an honorary Lost Boy.  Make a pirate hook and follow the fairy dust on Tinkerbell’s Scavenger Hunt to find Captain Hook’s treasure.

Gadgets & Gizmos - $7.50 (5-8yrs)
Young pioneers get their hands busy creating vintage gadgets and gizmos. Explore wacky Victorian patents, handle museum artefacts and craft a quirky invention to take home.

The Friendly Gardener - $25.00 (16yrs+)
Eliminate toxic chemicals and harmful pesticides by making your ‘green garden’ remedies.  Take home a soapy marigold insecticide, gardener’s soap bar, hand repair salve and a fungicide spray.
Saturday April 14 from 10:00am-12noon

Pioneer Kitchen: Bread Basics - $25 (16yrs+)
Learn the basic techniques of kneading, folding and slashing, along with a little history of traditional breads. Take your dough home to bake, but enjoy a sample from the woodstove with tea.
Saturday, May 26 from 10:00am-1:00pm

Classic Book Club - $5 (16yrs+)
Explore early Sci-Fi through Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. Enjoy the cozy period farmhouse with friends, tea and homemade goodies.
