I have spent my adult life involved with Education. I began my profession as a teacher and coach and later as a Secondary School principal in Surrey.
Following my successful career, I turned to Provincial politics where I served the constituency of Delta North. During my nine years in Victoria I served as Critic for Skills and Training and Deputy Critic for Education. While in government, I served as Deputy Chair of the Select Standing Committee on Education.
I was first elected as a Surrey School Trustee in 2005. Since then I have served both as Vice Chair and Chair of the Board.
I am proud to serve as the Board of Education’s representative with:
The Surrey School District is the largest and fastest growing district in British Columbia. Our size allows the district to provide a wide variety of programs and activities. However, rapid growth brings about problems of space and overcrowding. Consequently, the Board has continuously pressured the provincial government to meet the capital (building,) requirements of the District.
My years of teaching and administration have offered me insights into the school system and my involvement in provincial politics has provided an understanding of the provincial perspective. I offer you a lifetime of public service and I’m here to help you and your children.
