The City of Surrey is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada. Surrey is proud to be the largest city in British Columbia by land mass, and the second largest city by population.
However, with such size and expansion comes great challenges; none greater than the advancement and evolution of community safety.
The City understands that a strong sense of community safety among residents provides a crucial foundation for building a healthy and prosperous society. We also understand that crime reduction begins and ends with taking effective preventative measures, which address the root causes of crime.
Addressing community safety and crime reduction involves a comprehensive approach to crime reduction by working directly with a broad range of key stakeholders.
