Sport Surrey regrets to announce that it will be postponing all upcoming hosting events until the end of May 2020 (see complete list below). We will be working with our partners to solidify new dates, potentially at the end of 2020 or in 2021, wherever possible. All City of Surrey recreation centres, ice arenas, community rooms, parks, sports courts, and pools are closed until further notice to minimize risk of COVID-19 transmission. This list is not comprehensive. Please visit for the most recent updates.

See our media release for full details. Any organizers with inquiries in regards to their sporting event taking place in Surrey are advised to email us at

Recreation Facilities & Sport Fields

With first-class facilities, experienced volunteers, and a welcoming and open community, the City of Surrey has all the requirements to make your sporting experience a memorable one. We offer several recreation opportunities, including gymnasiums, fitness classes, weight rooms, indoor poolsarenas and meeting space rentals.

Surrey continues to invest in state-of-the-art recreational facilities to support tournament hosting for our communities. In fall 2019, we opened the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex, and in summer 2020, we plan on opening the Clayton Community Centre – a new centre with recreation, arts and library spaces.

Sport Surrey Campaigns & Initiatives

Keeping up the momentum from our successful delivery of the 2019 Canadian Tire Wickenheiser World Female Hockey Festival, the City of Surrey is engaging with community partners to deliver grassroots hockey programming with the following campaigns, events, resources, and initiatives:

2020 Hockey Zones

In 2020, our Hockey Zone will be set up at major events across Surrey. Here's where you can find us:

  • Surrey Canada Day (July 1): Join a road hockey game with players from the Surrey Knights, Falcons, and Eagles. Test your hockey skills and learn how you can get involved with Surrey’s minor hockey teams, either as a future player or a fan.
  • Surrey Fusion Festival  (July 25-26): Featuring a meet and greet opportunity with Canucks alumni. Grab a stick and test your hockey skills in the All-Star Skills Zone.
  • Surrey Tree Lighting (November 28): The Hockey Zone on University Drive is ideal for hockey fans of all ages and abilities. There will be games and activities as well as an open road hockey game for children to experience.
