About the 55+ BC Games

The 55+ BC Games are an annual, multi-sport event hosted by a different community in British Columbia each year. On average, 3,500 to 4,000 participants from around BC compete in 20+ sports.

The BC Senior Games Society (BCSGS) has been overseeing the staging of the Games since 1988. Their vision is that communities across BC are transformed by the inspirational lifestyles of the 55+ BC Games participants.

Try Something New

With over 20 sports showcased at the 55+ BC Games, there is bound to be something you haven't tried before. In celebration of the Games, we are hosting some opportunities for you to try something new:


55+ Sports and Games Try It: Lawn Bowling

Saturday, June 4 | 10am–12pm | Clayton Park

Join us and try a friendly game of low-impact lawn bowling with the Surrey Lawn Bowling Club.  All skill levels and abilities are welcome. 



55+ Sports and Games Try It: Triathlon

Wednesday, June 15 | 10am–12pm | Guildford Recreation Centre

Join us for a mini indoor triathlon that includes a 20 minute swim, 30 minute bike ride on an indoor cycling bike and a 20 minute run or walk on the indoor track.  All skill levels and abilities are welcome.  Flotation belt or life jacket will be available for those who do not know how to swim.



55+ Sports and Games Try It: Pickleball

Join us and try the popular sport of pickleball.  Learn basic skills, game play rules and tips.  All skill levels and abilities are welcome.
