Bear Creek Park
Explore Bear Creek Park's sports fields, playground, running and walking tracks, gardens, outdoor pool, water park, trails, and more.
City parks are open for casual use. To minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission, stay home when sick, stay 2 metres apart, do not gather in groups, and wear a mask in crowded spaces. Spectators for outdoor sports are not permitted as per new public health orders.
Dawn until dusk
When you explore Bear Creek Park, you'll find the focal point for the arts at the Surrey Arts Centre, the cooling off point for the summer at the outdoor pool and waterpark, and the Bear Creek Miniature Train.
In addition to a large playground, Bear Creek features football and soccer fields, a running track, a new fenced-in dog off-leash area, and a skatepark to practice your skills. Also find outdoor fitness equipment to use for cardio and strength training.
You can also spend time wandering along the nature trails and walking paths. Just a short walk down from the trail, catch a glimpse of spawning salmon or trout.
Bear Creek Park is a great place to host a picnic. There are 7 picnic shelters in Bear Creek Park:
- 2 located east of the playground
- 2 located west of 140 Street parking lot
- 2 located northwest of the running track
- 1 located southeast of the pavilion
Picnic shelters are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you’re having a picnic or hosting an event in a Surrey park please review the Park Activity Guidelines.
Hosting Events at Bear Creek
Events are held regularly at the Bear Creek Pavilion, which is available for rent. We've also seen weddings take place in the Bear Creek Gardens, which is open from dawn 'til dusk, year round. In the summer you can discover Bear Creek Park through a variety of free programs for all ages, hosted by City staff.
Please note Bear Creek Park is at capacity and we are not accepting applications for any large-scale events, including run/walk fundraisers. Learn about other parks where you can host a public event.
Destination Sports Facility
A proposed Bear Creek Park Destination Sports Facility will see upgrades to the existing track and sports field to international standards and replace existing wooden bleachers with a modern, 2,200 seat grandstand with covered seating and supporting amenities to be constructed in 2022.
The City presented the results of a feasibility study at a public open house on October 1, 2019. View the presentation boards to learn more.
