Interactive Family Fun

Learn about our buzzing friends through six interactives. Climb through a honeycomb model that’s home to a giant queen bee, egg and larvae. Test your bee knowledge on the BEE ID Spinner, do some research at the Bee-search Station, check out an actual Live Hive Cam and so much more!

An Environmental Spin

Experience the world of bees from two perspectives – that of bees and beekeepers. BEES! challenges your knowledge of the species. Information in the exhibit also inspires a respect for this sophisticated insect and shows how bee health is an indicator of the health of the whole environment.

The exhibit also touches on indigenous bees, beekeeping equipment and bee products.

Reflect on how bees are represented, or rather misrepresented, in popular culture.

Contributors

Expect to see interactives and beekeeping artifacts from the City of Surrey Heritage Collection and the Honeybee Centre.  Archival photos were provided by Surrey Archives and SFU Archives.

This bilingual (French/English exhibit) is a result of funding from Canadian Heritage.
