The Gale Force Blues Band has been active for the past fifteen years in the Lower Mainland. Well known in the blues scene, we play Modern Blues including tunes by BBKing, Etta James, Robert Cray, Blues Brothers and Paul Butterfield. Classic Rock tunes include Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and Three Dog Night. We have played at many venues in Vancouver, Surrey and Richmond throughout the years. We currently host a blues jam at West Beach Bar and Grill in White Rock. We are a seven piece band with two guitars, three vocals, drums, bass, keyboard, and percussionist. We are a high energy band with great dance tunes that everyone knows and loves. We love what we do and are reliable, organized and a whole bunch of fun.

Harmeet Kaur Virdee is a double bassist, vocalist, flutist, bandleader, composer, and educator based in Surrey BC. She is currently a part time student in Capilano University’s Jazz Studies program, and a Performance Prep student at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music (VSO SoM). She is currently studying with established jazz musicians such as Jodi Proznick, Miles Black, Jennifer Scott, and Katherine Watson. Harmeet has performed in coffee shops and small venues around the lower mainland as well as multiple performances at the VSO School of Music. This summer she will be performing at the Fort Langley Jazz Festival with her band Fourtet and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival with a jazz combo from the VSO SoM.
