This exhibition features paintings, photographs, and collages in a diversity of artistic styles, media, and subject matter, united by a common passion for colour and zest for life.
You’ll see depictions of historic festivals, streetscapes, monuments, geography, and the people and places of Surrey and the Punjab, all in celebration of the vitality of South Asian and Canadian culture. Nature and spirituality are two themes that crop up in many of the works, which coincides with Vaisakhi, an annual festival celebrating the birth of Sikh faith, the foundation of Khalsa, and the Punjabi harvest. Passionate Colours is part of the explorASIAN festival.
