2013 Intersection Improvements and Signal Program


Tenders are invited for the 2013 Intersection Improvements and Signal Program, involving:

  1. traffic signal modifications at 3 intersections
  2. new traffic signal installation at 1 intersection
  3. new special pedestrian activated crosswalk systems at 5 locations
  4. new pedestrian signals at 3 intersections
  5. associated roadway and pavement marking modifications and other works including:
    - 650 tonnes of asphalt paving
    - 1,700 tonnes of granular base and sub-base construction
    - 470 square metres of concrete sidewalk
    - 670 linear metres of concrete curb and other associated works.

Tenders must be submitted in a sealed package, marked on the outside with "Tenders for Contract M.S.1713-004-11, 2013 Intersection Improvements and Signal Program" and must be received at the office of the City Clerk, Surrey City Hall, 13450 104 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3T 1V8, not later than 11:00 am on May 2, 2013, and will be opened in public immediately thereafter.

Copies of the Drawings, Tender Submission Documents and Contract Documents may be viewed at Vancouver Regional Construction Association, 3636 East 4th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5M 1M3, Vancouver Regional Construction Association, 103A - 2142 West Railway Street, Abbotsford, BC V2S 2E2, and the Engineering Department Front Counter at Surrey City Hall, 13450 104 Avenue, Surrey, BC V3T 1V8.

Copies thereof may be purchased from Morrison Hershfield Limited, Suite 310, 4321 Still Creek Drive, Burnaby, BC V5C 6S7 on payment of the non-refundable sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00), GST inclusive.  Cheques should be made payable to Morrison Hershfield Limited.

All Tender inquiries shall be directed to Bill Jensen, P.Eng., Morrison Hershfield Limited at  Tender enquiries must be received no later than 4:00 pm on April 25, 2013.  Only enquiries received in writing (via email) will be accepted.

The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.  The City of Surrey reserves the right to reject any or all tenders and to waive informalities in any or all tenders.
