Request for Applications for Standing Offer Agreements

SPECIFICATIONS OF GOODS AND SCOPE OF SERVICES

Materials shall meet the requirements specified below. All supplied posts are preferred to be made of virgin non-recycled materials; alternative posts made of recycled materials must be indicated within Schedule B – Application for a Standing Offer Agreement, Table A.  For each alternative product listed, a specification sheet shall be attached to the submission.  Posts supplied shall be in accordance with the following appropriate requirements.

  1. Steel
  • Galvanized Steel Pipe P.E. Structural Grade
  • ASTM A1011 Grade 50 or equivalent CAN/CSA and ISO Standards (and/or superior)
  • Made of non-recycled materials - preferred
  • Finish – continuous, smooth, uniform
  • Appearance – free from uncoated areas, blisters, flux deposits and gross dross inclusions as well as having no heavy zinc deposits that interfere with intended use
  1. Dimensions
  • Circular pipe: 2.375” OD +/- .015”
  • Lengths: 120”, 126”, 144”, 168”
  • Gauge: 12, 13, 14
  • Option of ½” drilled hole 4” from one end of the pipe
  1. Galvanized Coating
  • Coating to meet or exceed ASTM A-653, G-90
  • Zinc Coating thickness (G-90) 0.9oz/ft2 and is equivalent to 0.45oz/ftper side - preferred
  • Adherence – the entire coating should have a strong adherence throughout the service life of galvanized steel
  1. Strength
  • A tensile strength of 55,000psi or superior - preferred
  • A yield strength of 50,000psi or superior - preferred

If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFA-SOA, the contact person will issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid Website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca (the “BC Bid Website”) and the City Website at www.surrey.ca (the “City Website”) that will form part of this RFA-SOA. It is the responsibility of Applicants to check the BC Bid Website and the City Website for addenda. The only way this RFA-SOA may be added to, or amended in any way, is by a formal written addendum. No other communication, whether written or oral, from any person will affect or modify the terms of this RFA-SOA or may be relied upon by any Applicant. By delivery of an Application, Applicant is deemed to have received, accepted and understood the entire RFA-SOA including, any and all addenda.
