Apply for a licence if you perform services in Surrey but do not have a physical location here.

Businesses that do not have a physical location in Surrey, but perform services within the city, require a City of Surrey Business Licence.

Example of businesses that require a non-resident business licence include plumbers, electricians, photographers, engineers and janitorial companies. Business licences for non-resident businesses are typically issued the same day the application is made, provided that all required information is supplied on the application form.

To apply for a non-resident business licence:

  1. Visit the Online Business Licensing application or complete the Business Licence Application form.
  2. Pay the business licence fee with your application. Confirm your business licence fee by contacting the Licensing office at 604-591-4370. A list of fees (for reference only) is available in the Business License Bylaw in Schedule A on page 35.
  3. Submit your application in person, by email, by fax or by mail.
