Request for Proposals
The City of Surrey requires a Senior Network Consultant to augment the City of Surrey’s internal Network Team to support the upgrade, security and ongoing operation of the City’s network. Reporting to the City’s Architecture & Cyber Security Manager and the IT Operations Manager, the Consultant will perform the Services as outlined in this RFP.

This scope of this work will include supporting the architecture, design, replacement and ongoing support of the City network at City Hall, the Operations Centre, Fire Hall #1 and other City of Surrey sites.

SCOPE OF WORK

Under general direction from the Architecture & Cyber Security Manager and the IT Operations Manager, the successful candidate will work with the Architecture, Cyber Security and Network Operations teams to:

  • Install, configure, and deploy core networking equipment.
  • Develop architecture and design documentation for the City Network;
  • Provide guidance, knowledge transfer and operational support to the Network Operations Team;
  • Perform root cause analysis in regards to the capacity, performance, and stability of the City Network; and
  • Participate in Architecture & Security and IT Operations team meetings.

The Senior Network Consultant must have experience with designing and implementing and testing Cisco networking technology, specifically Cisco 5000, 7000 and 9000 series.  The Senior Network Consultant must be comfortable with understanding, implementing and testing Cisco Validated Designs as they relate to the City’s core network.

If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFP, the City Representative will issue a written addendum by posting it on the BC Bid Website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca (the “BC Bid Website”) and the City Website at www.surrey.ca (the “City Website”) that will form part of this RFP.  No amendment of any kind to the RFP is effective unless it is posted in a formal written addendum on the City Website.  Upon submitting a Proposal, Proponents will be deemed to have received notice of all addenda that are posted on the City Website.
