Pre-Qualification For Contractors For Arterial Roadway Improvements And Related In-Stream Works – Fraser Highway Corridor, 138 Street To 148 Street

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST AND STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONS

SCOPE OF SERVICES

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The pre-qualified contractors may be invited to tender on the below listed project for the City’s Engineering Department, Design & Construction Division.  The project components included under this prequalification process will be tendered under various contracts. In general, these contracts consist of arterial road widening and related instream works.  The following list is not exhaustive, and the City reserves the right to modify the projects listed below as well as to add or remove projects.

Fraser Highway Widening (1,360m) – 96 Avenue to 148 Street (Summer/Fall 2021)

The work is anticipated to include the construction of an additional eastbound and westbound lane along Fraser Highway between 96 Avenue and 148 Street including the creation of a central median with adequate dimensions for future rapid transit works. Associated works may also include replacement or extension of culverts across Fraser Highway for King Creek, Enver Creek, and an unnamed watercourse to support the widened road cross section as well as removal for trees along either side of the existing paved surface on Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 148.

Fraser Highway Widening (550m) – 138 Street to 140 Street (Summer/Fall 2022)

The work is anticipated to include construction of an additional eastbound and westbound lane along Fraser Highway between 138 Street and 140 Street including the creation of a central median with adequate dimensions for future rapid transit works.

Fraser Highway Widening (580m) – 140 Street to 96 Avenue (Summer/Fall 2022)

The work is anticipated to include construction of an additional eastbound and westbound lane along Fraser Highway between 140 Street and 96 Avenue including the creation of a central median with adequate dimensions for future rapid transit works. Associated work may also include the replacement of the culvert across Fraser Highway for Quibble Creek to support the widened road cross section and infilling of various ditches.

ADDENDA

If the City determines that an amendment is required to this RFEOI/SOQ, the City Representative will post a written addendum on the BC Bid website at www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca (the “BC Bid Website”) and the City website at www.surrey.ca (the “City Website”) and upon posting will be deemed to form part of this RFEOI/SOQ.  No amendment of any kind to the RFEOI/SOQ is effective unless it is posted in a formal written addendum on the City Website.  Upon submitting a Submission, Respondents will be deemed to have received notice of all addenda that are posted on the City Website.
