REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS

This RFQ is for a contract for the supply and delivery of up to two (2) [more or less] 2000 Imperial Gallon Tandem Axle Tanker Trucks for the purpose of fire fighting in an urban environment and providing emergency and rescue response services. The City of Surrey (the “City”) invites Quotations for the supply and delivery of up to two (2) 2000 Imperial Gallon Tandem Axle Tanker Trucks as detailed and described in Schedule A – Specifications of Goods and Schedule A-1 Technical and Functional Specifications to Attachment 1 – Agreement – Goods (the “Goods”), including the performance of the warranty obligations as described in the Agreement, which include: a two-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, a lifetime frame warranty, a 10 year 100,000 mile structural warranty, a 10 year stainless steel plumbing warranty, a 20 year aerial device structural warranty, a 10 year paint and corrosion warranty and warranty repair for defects, latent defects and non-compliances, and fleet defects.

SPECIFICATIONS OF GOODS

The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labour, materials, supplies, and transportation necessary to manufacture and deliver 2000 Imperial Gallon Tanker Truck unit that comes with 1500 GPM Fire Pump (the “Goods”) and any spare parts in accordance with this Agreement. The City will accept Quotations for trucks in either a conventional style crew cab or a cab over engine style crew cab. The City prefers vehicles in this application which have the shortest overall length, to allow for greater maneuverability.

Schedule A-1 Technical and Functional Specifications & Requirements define the technical and functional specifications and requirements for the Goods. These technical and functional specifications and requirements are based on a general performance type specification pursuant to which the Contractor shall be responsible for designing, fabricating, assembling, testing and finishing the Goods, in compliance with the requirements of the Agreement. Included within these specifications and requirements may be specified components, equipment and systems, usually accompanied by the phrase “or approved equal.” Such components, equipment and systems, or deviations and substitute items specifically approved by the City, shall be provided as part of the completed Goods under the Agreement. The City’s specification of such components, equipment and systems or the approval of such items, however, shall not relieve the Contractor of any obligations under the Agreement since the City expects and is relying on the Contractor, in designing and testing the Goods, to verify suitability and safety of materials, components, equipment, systems and items before incorporating them into the design, fabrication or assembly of the Goods provided by the Contractor.
